The BMW Group: a premium manufacturer that draws strength from innovation
The BMW Group stands for passion, innovation and quality. It aspires to be the most successful and sustainable premium manufacturer for individual mobility.
The BMW Group is a globally successful manufacturer of automobiles and motorbikes in the premium and luxury sector. Comprising BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI and Rolls-Royce, the company owns four of the best-known brands in the automotive industry. In addition, the company also holds a strong market position in the premium motorbike industry.
Across the globe, more than 120,000 employees work to ensure customer satisfaction. The BMW Group production network comprises over 30 production sites worldwide; the company has a global sales network in more than 140 countries.
THE FUTURE HAS ALREADY BEGUN AT THE BMW GROUP
The future is electric, digital and circular: the economic success of the BMW Group is based not only on great inventions, but also on long-term thinking and responsible actions, as well as ecological and social sustainability throughout the value chain.
The transformation towards electrification, digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability has an impact on all divisions of the BMW Group – especially on the global production network.
One prerequisite for the climate-neutral mobility of the future, for example, is electric mobility . With the advent of fully electric BMW iX and BMW i4 production in 2021, and the new BMW 7 Series from 2022, the BMW Group has further advanced electric vehicle production. The carmaker benefits not only from the existing high flexibility in its production processes, but also from the qualifications of its employees.
However, the BMW Group is also consistently expanding its range of electric vehicles in the future and will have at least one fully electric model in almost all major series as early as 2023. From 2025 onwards, it aims to increase the share of fully electric vehicles it produces to 50 per cent with the New Class, and further reduce its CO2 footprint over the entire life cycle.
