iFACTORY EXPERIENCE at BMW Group Plant Leipzig

In around 100 minutes, you will gain exciting insights into the body shop and the assembly hall. 4 models, 3 propulsion systems and 2 brands: you will experience the highly flexible production of the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the MINI Countryman on the same production line.

The tour starts in the body shop, where around 1,500 robots are at work. They gradually assemble the bodyshells, the basic structure of a BMW or MINI, from several hundred individual parts. The tour continues via the architecturally exceptional main building to the assembly hall, where the vehicles slowly take shape. In our current Basic Tour, you will gain an even deeper insight into the assembly process and discover exciting facts about high-voltage battery production.

The Basic Tour is aimed at all interested parties and is suitable as a tourist excursion. Some of the assembly stations are not accessible. Please let us know in the booking process if you have physical limitations: we also offer an accessible variant.

The Extended Tour takes you on a 130-minute immersion into the production of the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the MINI Countryman. You will also find out what role artificial intelligence plays in the painting process. Join us and see for yourself how the basic framework of a BMW or MINI model is turned into a fully-fledged vehicle.
